Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 2:36PM Help get this advert funded to go inside the Metro newspaper which is read by over 2 million people...

Taken from Advert Activist...
About this campaign -
This ad is a collaboration between some of the most innovative campaign organisations on planet earth.
Amnesty International, Friends of the Earth, Do The Green Thing, World Movement Development, Pants to Poverty, Global Poverty Project, UK Youth Climate Coalition and War On Want have joined forces with Advert Activist to go under the powerful slogan that 'This World Belongs To Everybody'.
However we need your help to make the advert happen. If successfully funded it will be seen by over 2 million people.
Why we put this ad together -
When you hear constant stories in the media about corrupt politicians, reckless bankers, violence, terrorism, and global warming, it is easy to become dissolutioned and pessimistic. There is no doubt that the world faces some difficult challenges, it always has.
However, there are fantastic people from all walks of life doing very positive work. There are organisations like the ones featured on this ad that are doing a great job of tackling inequality, global warming, human rights abuses and poverty. They can only do this work with the support of the public.
We need to make people realise that they can make a difference, they can change things for the better and they can do it by supporting these organisations. This is why we have put this ad together.
If we can get the ad funded and featured in the Metro newspaper it will be seen by over 2 million people and hopefully inspire them to join these organisations and take action.

Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 7:13PM Check out this documentary about what the IMF economic policies did to Jamaica. No wonder the people of Greece and many other countries now don't want them involved with their affairs.
Friday, May 20, 2011 at 3:33PM Shiro-Abhyanga, known in the west as Indian Head Massage, has been used as part of normal family life in India for over 2000 years. It was originally used as a form of grooming to help to help stimulate hair growth. But the massage has many more benefits that just that.
Indian Head Massage works on areas affected by mental and emotional stress. In Western culture today we spend much of our time in our heads, so this treatment can really help to calm the mind and is surprisingly deeply relaxing. Working with a firm and gentle rhythm it helps to relieve muscular discomfort and tension as well as calming the spirit and aiding relaxation, it also improves circulation in the head, enhances the senses and promotes clear thinking.
Ian Wilkins, who worked for the Hilltop Charity in Nepal for 5 years, said ‘I was finding learning the local language really difficult. Someone suggested I take regular head massages, so I did. I don’t know why but having these regular head massages really helped me pick up the language quickly. I think it relaxes you and focuses the mind.’
So if a regular head massage helps focus and relax the mind then why not introduce it as mandatory in schools. Many children find school stressful and hard environments in which to learn. Many schools regularly report fights between students, many are hyped up on the wrong kind of diet. So why not introduce head massages in school. Instead of giving a child detention when they misbehave the school should give them a head massage. It would give the local massage therapists extra income too. In fact why not go a step further and introduce the idea to offices too.
